Project Title: Northern Adapted Flax Variety Development Project

 

Description: Saskatchewan Flax Development Commission, together with Viterra, the Alberta Research Council, and the BC Grain Producers Association are collaborating to develop new flax varieties better adapted to the northern prairie region of Western Canada. These new varieties will be developed through Viterra’s flax breeding program centered at Vegreville, Alberta, in cooperation with research collaborators in BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
