Pillar Two: Capturing Market Opportunities by Advancing Research Results
This pillar assists in creating market opportunities within the agriculture and agri-food sector by transferring research results from industry, government, and educational institutions. The goal of this pillar is to encourage business growth and improve the sector’s competitiveness through commercialization of research results.
Eligible funding requests include:
- Technical analysis and feasibility studies.
- Market assessments and development.
- Economic feasibility studies.
- Engineering and product prototypes.
- Business plans and marketing plans.
Funding:
For industry organizations, whose projects demonstrate significant benefits to the sector, funding under Pillar II will not normally exceed 70% of eligible costs. For an individual firm, funding will not normally exceed 50% of eligible costs. The maximum funding under Pillar II is $500,000
Note: The research component of a product or process must be previously established. The applicant must demonstrate that the product or process can be reasonably expected to succeed and can be produced or manufactured.
